Latest Paulson Adebo update after CB left Thursday Night Football with scary injury
Unfortunately for the New Orleans Saints, the injuries keep coming. In the second quarter of Thursday Night’s game against the Denver Broncos, veteran cornerback Paulson Adebo was carted off the field with his leg in an air cast.
Adebo ran towards the ball carrier to help finish a tackle and after hitting the ground, he immediately reached for his leg. The broadcast refused to show a replay of what happened, and that’s typically the case with significant, gruesome injuries. He was ultimately ruled out with a right knee injury.
The team gathered around Adebo as he was loaded on to the cart and he did give a thumbs up to the crowd.
Sideline reporter Kaylee Hartung reported that his leg was placed in a vacuum splint. According to Hartung, the purpose of a vacuum splint is stability of the bone, not just ligaments. She said Adebo was carted off the field and straight to the X-Ray room. After X-Rays at the stadium, Adebo was taken by ambulance to a nearby medical center.
Following the game, head coach Dennis Allen announced Adebo sustained a broken femur.

Adebo, in the fourth season of his career, entered this year with high expectations after a promising season a year ago. Through the seven games he appeared in, he has had some highs and lows, recording three interceptions and a league-high 10 passes defended, but was also heavily penalized with holding and pass interference calls.
With it being his fourth season, this is an all-important contract year for the 2021 third-round pick. Unfortunately, he’ll now have to turn his attention to getting healthy.
For New Orleans, the team turns to rookie cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry, who was drafted in the second round of the 2024 Draft. McKinstry is a really talented young corner, and has impressed whenever he’s been on the field. He’ll now have an even bigger role as he fills in for as long as Adebo is out.
