Former New Orleans Saints quarterback Chase Daniel had a successful 14-year NFL career; however, now he’s setting his sights on something else. Last week, The current ESPN analyst announced a new college game-day experience for fans sponsored by Cheez-It.

This contest gives fans a chance to meet Daniel in-person and have an exclusive tailgate. I spoke with Daniel, and he dove further into what fans can expect from the Cheez-It couch committee.

“Cheez-Itz has been showing up at bowl games and the College Football Playoff for almost over a decade, and pretty much the Cheez-It couch committee, which I’m the lead on, is just an armchair quarterback talk,” Daniels said. “We’re debating games. We’re doing all this stuff. I already break down enough quarterbacks, and we’re snacking on Cheez-It the whole time we’re talking ball.”

Fans can expect to feel the full college culture with the Cheez-It couch committee.

Few sports can mimic the culture surrounding college football. From the fanbase, to the rivalries, it’s a different experience than any other sport. Daniel understands this and highlights how it’s a defining feature that fans can enjoy weekly.

“I think the thing that I have enjoyed coming back full circle, because I was in the NFL for a long time, 14 years, I sort of forgot what it meant to be a college football fan,” Daniel said. “There’s nothing quite like it.”

Another thing Daniel emphasized was the experience of the couch committee itself. It isn’t intended to be a pure watch party, but instead a collaboration where debates, conversations, and tailgates take place.

“Lets just talk ball and ask questions, live and in-person,” Daniel said. “Let’s make this massive cheez-itz square coach and go to a tailgate and have some fun.”

One thing worth mentioning is the in-person aspect that the couch committee brings. Almost everyone debates sports online, whether it’s through texts with friends, on X, or any other social media. However, meeting live and debating in person is a much rarer thing that’s underappreciated in today’s world, and the committee gives fans the chance to do just that.

The square couch that Daniel is referring to is a massive Cheez-It-shaped sofa for fans to sit on during the experience. This will allow the winner, plus five friends, to enjoy the experience in a comfortable, once in a lifetime, place.

Interested fans can learn more and join the contest at cheezitz.com/couchcomittee and enter for a chance to join Daniels live. Applications are open now and close on Monday, October five.
