One constant for the New Orleans Saints over the past eight years has been the reliability of linebacker Demario Davis, who revealed that he was planning to return for a 15th NFL season. When asked what prompted him to return for another year in the league, Davis said he knew he'd be back while the 2025 season was ongoing.

"When you get this late in your career, it really becomes each year you got to make that decision for yourself... I knew I was going to come back for another year. I think I just still have so much that I'm doing at a high level," Davis said in an exclusive interview with FanSided. "I had my productive league, you know, my best season. Really had a great year of just mentoring guys in the locker room... When you have all those things kind of going on, it's like, well, I can't just kind of walk away from the game, you know, at this point. And so I'm on a year by year plan. I take it one at a time, and I'm just really excited to be able to come back next year."

Davis isn't wrong about still producing. His 143 tackles are the most of his career, and that marks the second consecutive season Davis set a career-high in that category. It makes sense why he didn't need to get to the offseason to make his decision on whether or not to play

Unfortunately for Saints fans, Davis is a free agent this spring and might not even return to New Orleans for his 15th season. He did mention in that interview that the Saints will be playing in Paris this year and it feels weird for him to bring that up if he's not interested in a return to NOLA.

That being said, at 37 years old, Davis' chances of winning a Super Bowl are getting slimmer. Sure, he could return to the Saints who showed real promise in the back half of the season but he also could look to join a contender and try to do something he hasn't done in his career, which is win a ring.

The Bears have been a team linked to Davis, simply because of his connection with former Saints head coach and defensive coordinator Dennis Allen, who is now running the defense in Chicago. The Bears are also a team that could be a serious Super Bowl contender in 2026.

It's great that Davis is adamant on returning for another season in the league and Saints fans are hoping that he decides to re-sign with New Orleans for one more go.
