Pro Football Focus' Mason Cameron listed the top destination for the 10 highest graded free agents this offseason. New Orleans Saints linebacker Demario Davis made the cut and most Saints fans will be pretty happy with Cameron's projection.

PFF said that it makes the most sense for the team captain to return to the Crescent City, citing his vital part of the Saints' defense (which ranked top 10 in EPA per play allowed). A return also makes more sense due to the fact that Davis had one of the best seasons of his career under defensive coordinator Brandon Staley,

Since signing with New Orleans back in 2018, Davis has skirted free agency. He's typically got his extensions done in-season or during the legal tampering period, but that might change this year.

PFF might be wrong if you ask Demario Davis

Despite what PFF says, Demario Davis might've already played his last down for the Saints. In a recent interview with Kay Adams, he implied that he's interested in testing the open market. "I'm coming back to the NFL," Davis said on the Up and Adams show. "I'm super excited about that. I keep training all through the Super Bowl so my body feels great; I'm just excited... However that plays itself out, we shall see."

From an outside perspective, the idea of Davis playing somewhere else next year isn't completely ridiculous. He'll be 37 years old in 2026, and players in their late 30s don't typically play for much longer after that. However, Davis had one of the best seasons of his career at the age of 36, so he could be one of the few outliers.

Nonetheless, Davis is reaching the end of his career. A few accolades short of a Hall of Fame resume, if he does play for another team in 2026, it's likely to be for a contender.
