New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave has modeled consistency throughout his first four seasons in the NFL.  He has eclipsed the 1,000 yard mark in three out of those four years, while serving as a focal point in the team’s offense.

Olave had a fantastic 2025 campaign accounting for nearly 30% of the Saints receiving yards and almost half of the team’s receiving touchdowns.  Despite Second Team All-Pro honors after the best season of his career, still wasn’t enough to crack the NFL’s top 10 wide receiver rankings.

ESPN’s Jeremey Fowler surveyed coaches, scouts, and executives around the league to vote their own top 10 wide receivers around the league.  Not only did Olave miss out on cracking the top 10, he wasn’t even considered an honorable mention.  While media members praised Olave for his impressive 2025 campaign, NFL decision makers felt completely different.

Lack of team success played a major role in Chris Olave being left off the list

The wide receivers who made an appearance on this list are either widely regarded as the best in the NFL, key contributors on winning teams, or flashy highlight reel players with elite statistics.  Chris Olave has been consistent throughout his career, but he hasn’t quite gotten the national recognition that many players ahead of him have gotten, due to lack of team success.

Chris Olave’s 2025 campaign was statement year.  After strong concerns about his health from concussions.  He finished top 10 in the three major receiving categories, posting 100 receptions, 1,163 yards, and 9 touchdowns.  He continued to produce despite playing with two different quarterbacks and being the obvious focal point in the Saints offense.

Olave has displayed his talent and consistency throughout his first four seasons, but has never been apart of a winning team and has yet to be recognized as one of the elite receivers in the game.  However, his consistency and All Pro nod should at least have earned an honorable mention.

With New Orleans finding its franchise quarterback and the two continue to develop chemistry, Olave could have a breakout opportunity in 2026.  With the new receiver weapons around him and higher team expectations, he could potentially earn himself a spot on next year’s list.
