The 2024 season has finally come to an end for the New Orleans Saints. It was a miserable season that had just five wins, 12 losses, one fired coach, and a ton of injuries to key players. Now, the franchise is starting an important offseason that will lay the foundation for the next era of Saints football.

Everyone is anticipating this offseason will contain some tearful goodbyes to Saints legends of the past era. As New Orleans rebuilds and starts a new chapter, it could be doing so without guys the franchise has had around for a long time.

One player that falls into that category is Cam Jordan, and the veteran defensive end sees the writing on the wall just like everyone else. He has made that clear in recent weeks, and once again reiterated it after the regular-season finale on Sunday.

Speaking with the media Jordan expressed that he’s been blessed to have 14 years in New Orleans, but admitted he doesn’t know what’s coming next. What he does know is that he wants to keep adding to his resume.

These statements echo what he expressed after the Week 17 loss at home. Knowing it was the final home game of the season, Jordan made sure to take it all in. He ran the field with his family pregame and took pictures, signed a ton of autographs for fans after the game, and also spent hours on the field with his family following the game.

Many fans said he looked like a player preparing for retirement, but Jordan denied that narrative, saying he wants to play next season. While he hopes it’s in New Orleans, he said he’s prepared to play elsewhere if he has to.

With a year left on his contract with the Saints, that decision will ultimately come down to the organization, which has a lot of decisions to make. The new coaching staff will decide if they want Jordan to be a part of the team, and the front office will decide if they want to pay him. At this point, no one knows what will happen.
