New Orleans Saints rookie wide receiver Brock Rechsteiner may have a famous family member or two, but as an undrafted free agent he is the definition of an underdog. Luckily, that's something that Big Papa Pump Jr. is well prepared for on multiple fronts.

An 'underdog' is something that Rechsteiner has arguably been his entire football career. At least, that's the case if you ask him. "I went to Jacksonville State as a preferred walk-on coming out of high school," he said during rookie minicamp. "Then I earned a scholarship and got the starting job. Now I'm here pretty much doing the same thing."

Calling it pretty much the same thing is a bit of a stretch, to be honest; however, it's good that Rechsteiner has that confidence in himself. All elite receivers do, but I'm not necessarily calling him that just yet. He has a long way to go, and the hardest part of the season hasn't even started yet.

Saints rookie WR Brock Rechsteiner has a lot to do if he wants to make the 53-man roster

Brock Rechsteiner is really only one of many wide receivers on the Saints roster that are facing the steep uphill climb to just make the practice squad, let alone the 53-man roster. Training camp, something that's an entirely different beast than the fall camps of college football, has to be the hardest he's ever worked in his career.

He's shown flashes of some incredible traits in his relatively small amount of receptions, at times running past/through defenses on his way to the end zone. But he'll need more than just flashes to reach his goals. To do what he wants to do, which is play football, he needs to show that he brings excitement every time he steps on the field.

That excitement also can't just come from his famous lineage, but he can use the hall-of-fame athletes in his family as a northern star. WWE hall of famers have to know a thing or two, after all.
