New Orleans Saints wide receiver Barion Brown has been impressing all offseason and is arguably the training camp darling after managing to stand out at every practice. In the preseason finale against the Dallas Cowboys, the sixth-round rookie capped off his offseason to remember with a touchdown.
Brown's performance on Friday evening was also a unique one as well, as he got all of his offensive work done in the run game. The ball carrier on two separate reverses, the game in Arlington might've also been a sneak peek into how he'll be used by Kellen Moore this upcoming season. What's more is that given the fact that Jordyn Tyson is out until October, Brown should have ample more opportunities to make plays.
You'll be hard pressed to find a player who's had a more impressive training camp for the Saints than Barion Brown. The former LSU Tiger truly hit the ground running this past May at rookie minicamp and hasn't looked back since. Initially considered just a return specialist, Brown has since risen his stock so much that he's on the verge of leapfrogging fellow rookie Bryce Lance in the depth chart.

Heading into that first game in Detroit against the Lions, the New Orleans Saints will still be down one of their best players in Jordyn Tyson. That moves Devaughn Vele up to WR2 but still leaves the team without a third musketeer. Following the team's preseason finale, that last wide receiver of the top trio could very well be Barion Brown.
Aside from the first-round pick, no other rookie receiver has been quite as impressive as Brown. Showing up and grabbing the bull by the horns every time he had the chance, he has a real opportunity now to jump into the deep end of the pool and be a day-one contributor.
Furthermore, when you start to notice the similarities between former Saint Rashid Shaheed and Brown, there's even more fuel added to that fire. The sixth-round pick, just like the former UDFA, has shown insane speed and route-running along with a knack in the return game. It's also not just media that's saying this; it's also the team's WR1, with Olave also noting the similarities between the two.
