Saints news revolves around Odell Beckham Jr. still being linked to the team and what the team’s playoff chances look like in 2022.

During the 2021 NFL season, New Orleans native Odell Beckham Jr. was released by the Browns after a rocky relationship proved it was beyond the point of repair. Saints fans immediately wanted the team to target him because A) He was from the area B) He played at LSU and C) He would have filled a major position of need at wide receiver.

Despite the Saints remaining in the hunt, Beckham ended up signing with the Rams and won a Super Bowl with them. The title came at a price, sadly, as Beckham tore his ACL in the big game and might not be able to play until midway through the 2022 regular season.

That hasn’t stopped Saints fans from wanting to see the former LSU standout in the black and gold.

Even if OBJ doesn’t join the Saints, the team should be able to make it into the playoffs this year after missing in the 2021 season. Despite all of the hardships they faced in 2021, NOLA still went 9-8 and only missed the postseason because the Rams couldn’t beat the 49ers in the final game of the season. That’s what kept New Orleans out of the playoffs.

What’s trending in Saints news?

WynnBET has given New Orleans +325 odds to win the NFC South (Tampa Bay has -300 odds, for the record) and +130 outright to reach the playoffs.

With how weak the NFC is and how stacked the Saints’ defense and wide receiver room are, there’s no reason why New Orleans shouldn’t be vying for a playoff spot in 2022. Maybe they don’t win the division but a Wild Card berth is absolutely within reach for the black and gold.
