Starting Interior: Andrus Peat (LG), Erik McCoy (Center), Cesar Ruiz (RG)

Andrus Peat was banged up last season and continued to frustrate Saints fans with how he’s played since signing his extension, which should definitely be a regret by the organization. Peat likely wins the left guard job again due to that pricey extension but it’d be nice if the Saints brought in competition for him.

Speaking of competition, it’s time to bring some in for Cesar Ruiz, who has struggled during his two years in the league. Ruiz is durable but that’s about the only positive fans can say about the guy. He’ll enter a crucial year three and if he struggles through the first half of the year, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the team move on from him.

Erik McCoy is one of the best centers in the league and as we saw last year, the line performs completely different when he’s unable to take the field. Ruiz is the backup center and, again, as we saw last year, that didn’t go well.

McCoy is entering the final year of his contract, however, so it’d be smart of New Orleans to try and extend him sooner rather than later.
