Backup Tackles: Ethan Greenridge, Jerald Hawkins, Landon Young

James Hurst could find his way into this group if the team adds a tackle in the early rounds of the draft but for now, these are the three New Orleans has to work with. If Hurst or Ryan Ramczyk go down with an injury, Ethan Greenridge might be the one sliding into the left tackle job while Landon Young would be the next man up at right tackle.

Greenridge went undrafted out of Villanova and saw playing time with the Saints in the 2020 season, appearing in 15 games. He was mostly used on special teams during that time but the team has kept him around so he’s clearly made a positive impression on them.

Jerald Hawkins played college football at LSU and went to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He’s bounced around between the Steelers and Bucs since then but joined the Saints to try and stick on the roster this offseason.

Young was a sixth-round pick out of Kentucky in last year’s draft and missed the end of the season due to injury. He could be a candidate to eventually play left tackle but for now, he’s probably going to be a backup behind Ramczyk on the right side.
