2. Running Back

The latest update on Alvin Kamara is that his next court date is scheduled for April 25 so we’ll know more information on his case after that time.

For now, however, it feels like a suspension is likely for Kamara in the 2022 season. If that’s the case, the Saints will want to make sure they have the position covered while the former third-round pick is unavailable.

Mark Ingram was acquired last offseason in a midseason trade but he wasn’t as effective down the stretch as the team was hoping for. He also is someone the team could opt to cut in order to save money but with Kamara’s situation, that doesn’t seem as likely anymore.

So, with all of that said, running back is a position that I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Saints address at some point in free agency. Maybe they add someone like Duke Johnson or James White in free agency or perhaps they wait until the draft and go with someone in the later rounds like Sincere McCormick or Tyler Badie.

Either way, don’t be surprised if the Saints put more emphasis than expected on finding a running back this offseason.
