Where will Marcus Williams sign in free agency?

At last we come to the biggest name for the Saints in free agency. Marcus Williams was a second-round pick in 2017 and has gone on to become one of the best players on the entire NOLA roster.

Losing Williams would be really devastating but it’s a strong possibility. He’s not set to turn 26 until the 2022 season gets underway, meaning whoever signs him could very well sign him through his age 30 or 31 season.

I wouldn’t be shocked if New Orleans found a way to keep Williams but considering how valuable he’ll be considered to other teams and the Saints not having much money to play around with, it’s not probable. He shouldn’t take a hometown discount to return to NOLA and he has ties to other organizations.

Detroit has Aaron Glenn as their defensive coordinator and that’s who Williams worked with up until this past year. Glenn might have a strong influence in convincing Williams to sign with the Lions. The only real issue there is would Williams be willing to go to a bad team?

Prediction: Williams signs a 5-year deal with the Lions.
