2. Terron Armstead

There are varying opinions on whether the Saints should attempt to keep Terron Armstead in the black and gold in 2022 and beyond and Who Dat Dish has covered both angles.

On the one hand, Armstead is one of the best in the league at his position, and left tackle is one of the most important positions in all of football. Armstead was a third-round steal for New Orleans back in 2013 and he’s repaid them for taking a chance on a small-school prospect by sticking with them for the entirety of his career to this point.

On the other hand, Armstead is 30 years old now and is injured frequently. It’s not a good investment for the team to sink nearly $100 million in a 30-year old who can’t stay healthy for the duration of the season. Armstead is on the wrong side of 30 and that’s why it wouldn’t be shocking if NOLA moved on from him.

If they do, fans will definitely miss him. He’s been one of the best left tackles in the league during his time in the Big Easy and good left tackles are hard to find. It’d be a risk letting Armstead walk away and some fans might not be happy if the Saints do indeed let that happen.
