Kwon Alexander

Kwon Alexander signed a four-year, $54 million deal during the 2019 offseason, but without any dead cap, if released in the offseason, the Saints opted to go that route as they just couldn’t afford to keep the star linebacker.

Alexander, who the Saints traded for midway through the season, failed to finish the season. He tore his Achilles towards the back half of the season which certainly had an impact on the Saints playoff push. Prior to that, Alexander played in seven games and had 27 tackles.

He had an immediate impact for New Orleans, so when he’s healthy, he’ll easily crack an NFL roster. Alexander is that good, and he made the Saints that much better.

In those seven starts, when Alexander was healthy through the entirety of the game, the Saints’ opponent topped 25 points just once. The Saints had an elite defense, and still a free agent, his impact should get him signed relatively soon.

That said, these four are still on the market, and I wouldn’t be shocked if many of them are signed in the coming weeks.
