John Ross

A third trade option is former first-round pick John Ross. Ross’ time in Cincinnati is going to be coming to an end soon. He was inactive for hteir matchup with the Titans with an illness while taking to Twitter and claiming he’s not sick.

There is all types of dysfunction within the franchise that just dominated Tennessee on Sunday. Having dealt Carlos Dunlap after not playing him much, Ross should be the next one out the door, and he’s coming a career year with the team.

Ross, one of the fastest receivers in the NFL, had over 500 yards last season. He had 28 receptions. This season, he has two receptions for 17 yards. His usage has tanked with Burrow at quarterback and in Zac Taylor’s second season as head coach.

To be fair, Ross wasn’t useful with Marvin Lewis either, so it’s not necessarily Taylor’s fault. He needs a change of scenery, and he could be an extremely cheap option for the Saints after seeing the value of which they gave Dunlap away for.

All three options would be low-cost adds for New Orleans and should certainly be obtainable.
