Number Two: Marcus Mariota

Marcus Mariota becomes a free agent in 2020 after being replaced by Ryan Tannehill mid-season.

Mariota is most definitely on the way out of town and will likely go somewhere where he can get playing time and compete for the starting job. Marcus Mariota, in my opinion, could be a starter for the Saints.

The 26-year-old from Hawaii was the number two overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans. Mariota has had a productive NFL career thus far on a mediocre Titans team.

More from Who Dat Dish

The former Heisman Trophy winner has started 61 games in the NFL, completing almost 63 percent of his passes for 13,207 yards to go along with 76 touchdown passes to just 44 interceptions.

Mariota is also very mobile.

In his career, he has racked up almost 1,400 rushing yards averaging 5.8 yards per carry, and eleven touchdowns. Marcus Mariota just simply did not fit the Titans’ offense very well. Mike Vrabel wanted more of a pocket passer rather than a mobile quarterback.

A mobile quarterback in the Saints offense would fit like a glove. We saw how productive mobility could be in the Saints playoff loss to the Minnesota Vikings when Taysom Hill single-handedly ran the Saints into the game.

Inking Mariota to a three or four-year deal would be an ideal situation in New Orleans and they could have two mobile quarterbacks with an offense full of trickery.
