Saints seek first win against Greg Olsen-less Panthers in week 3
Cam Newton will be without his trusty tight end Greg Olsen this weekend. That will give the Saints a decent shot at earning their first win for 2017.
Feathers in New Orleans have been ruffled early this year after another 0-2 start.
The defense has shown no signs of progress after a promising preseason. And former first-round pick Stephone Anthony was jettisoned after he gave the expression ‘sophomore slump’ new meaning.

What’s more, the offense has looked out of rhythm over the first 2 games, leaving fans hysterical about the team’s current identity and future prospects.
But week 3 holds the Saints best hopes at righting the ship. They will look to get back on track against a Panthers team that is without their top receiving threat, Greg Olsen.
The Panthers tight end was placed on IR after he suffered a Jones fracture in his right foot against the Bills in Week 2.
For context, Greg Olsen is one of the Saints’ worst match up nightmares.
Over the past 5 meetings between the Panthers and the Saints, Olsen has averaged 7.2 catches and 92.4 yards per game.
He has completely taken over games against New Orleans in the past. Now, Cam Newton will have to look to Russell Shepard, Devin Funchess and Kelvin Benjamin to shoulder the load.

The Saints defense could use a bit of a break after being shredded in back-to-back weeks by Sam Bradford and Tom Brady.
And it’s obviously unfortunate that the break comes in the form of a significant injury to an exciting playmaker. But right now the average Saints fan is too desperate to notice.
