There you have it. The Saints open up the season on Monday Night Football against the Minnesota Vikings, in Minnesota. If they sign Adrian Peterson, the game will have some added intrigue. Hell, the matchup might even persuade Peterson to come to New Orleans if it comes down to a choice.

The Saints will also play the Falcons on Thursday Night Football in Week 14. And of course, they will play the Dolphins in London in Week 4. Fortunately for the Saints, that will count as an away game.

There are some positives in the schedule. Three of the last five games at home. Not too many short weeks. A strength of schedule of 0.510, which ranks 15th across the league.

There are more negatives, though. Don’t play the second home game until Week 6. A Week 5 BYE… Starting and finishing the season on the road.

At least we have this to look forward to:

That’s Junior Galette, expressing his excitement over the November 19th matchup with the Saints. The last time the Saints played the Redskins, it cost Rob Ryan his job. Let’s not have a repeat performance.
