NFL Network analyst Jason La Canfora believes the Saints will part ways with running back Reggie Bush at some this off-season once the league resumes operation.

"No other running back — especially a situational one — is making this kind of salary right now. New Orleans is deep in the backfield and moved up to draft Mark Ingram. There will be significant interest in Bush, and I can’t see him back with the Saints, getting six to eight touches at best per game, when he can have 12 to 15 elsewhere. Projected result: Look for the St. Louis Rams, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New York Jets, Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks and possibly the New England Patriots all to be interested in Bush’s services once he hits the street."

Bush will never see his 11.8 million dollars with the Saints in 2011. Ultimately it’s likely New Orleans will attempt to re-sign him to a more team friendly deal as they value his versatility inside the offense and his contributions as a punt returner on special teams.

However no ones knows for sure how willing Bush really is to take a pay cut, and perhaps more importantly see his role in the offense diminish even more with the addition of Mark Ingram in compliment to Pierre Thomas.

Bush created a media frenzy with the comments made on his twitter account throughout the off-season. Even though he apologized and maintained his desire to stay with the Saints, his actions seems to indicate otherwise and a move may be imminent.

Just weeks ago Jason Cole broke a story that the Saints allowed Bush to speak to other teams before the lockout, the point being so Bush could gauge other teams interest as well as determining what sort of money he may command on the open market.

The Saints have never been afraid to allow a player to walk and in most cases use this type of procedure to prove the deals they offer are fair to market standard. Bottom line is if Bush does not re-sign with the Saints, he will be cut in respect to his monstrous cost against the salary cap.
