Organized Team Activities for the New Orleans Saints begin on Wednesday. It's the first time since the end of last season that we'll be able to see the team play football. We've played through many situations in our head of Tyler Shough throwing to Jordyn Tyson and other new additions.
The hypotheticals don't have to be pure curiosity any longer. The stakes are low, but it's still refreshing to see players on the field. It means the season isn't that far away. OTAs are an suitable replacement in the interim.
OTAs are low intensity, and there won't be much contact. That doesn't mean there isn't much to look for during the practice. The Who Dat Dish team reveals their most anticipated part of OTAs.
Saints passing attack and pass defense getting all the attention
Tyler Shough to Jordyn Tyson connection
Even if it might be in a small sample size, I’m curious as to what Tyler Shough and Jordyn Tyson will look like when they’re on the field together. After so much hype and discussion among the fans and media, it’s exciting to finally be at this point.~ Molly Bauer
All Eyez On Wide Receiver
During OTA’s I’d like to see the Saints wide receivers show the ability to create separation against defenders while building timing and chemistry with Tyler Shough, as the offense continues to develop. I also want to see the rookie receivers compete for key roles, while bringing energy and playmaking ability throughout practices as the team prepares for the 2026 season.~ Tramell Jeffers
How do the DBs respond?
I'm looking forward to seeing how the defensive backs handle the new-look Saints receiver corps in OTA’s. It’s no secret that they upgraded on offense; however, the same can’t be said at cornerback. Instead of grabbing new talent, the Saints primarily focused on sustaining it (minus Alontae Taylor). Because of this, an already inconsistent group will be put under a microscope in 2026. OTA’s will be the first chance to see how they match up against elite competition.~ Drew Collings
Jonas Sanker take a step forward?
Sanker is one of the leading candidates to replace Alontae Taylor. If there's one aspect of his game to question, it's the coverage. The second year player would be asked to take on much more diffiult coverage obigations. Seeing how he manuevers in a pass happy OTA session could end up being one of the few things we can actually evaluate.~ Darrion Gray
