On Tuesday, the New Orleans Saints traded four-time Pro Bowl cornerback Marshon Lattimore to the Washington Commanders. Following the firing of Dennis Allen, a Lattimore trade became inevitable, as several teams reached out to New Orleans for the star corner. Ultimately, Washington had the best package.

That package included a third-, fourth-, and sixth-round pick in 2025, and New Orleans is sending back Lattimore and a 2025 fifth-round. While it’s always tough to say goodbye to a franchise legend, this was a great return for the veteran corner.

The Saints will now enter the draft season with a nice lineup of picks for the 2025 Draft. Let’s take a look at all the picks they currently have for 2025.

Following this trade, New Orleans is now set up with nine picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Saints have their automatic pick in every round, except the seventh, as that pick was packaged with Chauncey Gardner-Johnson when he was sent to the Philadelphia Eagles.

New Orleans now has two third-round picks, and two fourth-round picks. Interestingly enough, the sixth-round pick that the Saints got back in the Lattimore trade is their original sixth-round pick. New Orleans sent it to Washington earlier this year when the team acquired defensive tackle John Ridgeway III and a seventh-round pick.

That’s an important detail, as New Orleans will likely finish with a worse record than the Commanders. That means this pick will be higher than Washington’s sixth. While it’s still the sixth round, it’s always better to be earlier in the round.

Of course, these picks are subject to change. As always, they can be traded. Additionally, there are still comp picks that the league will sort out before the draft arrives. All in all, the Saints are setting themselves up for a much-needed rebuild.
