The Saints’ offense lacked explosive playmakers last season after trading Rashid Shaheed. Because of this, Kellen Moore and company emphasized adding some: signing Travis Etienne and now drafting Tyson.Â
As a result, the Saints’ offense is loaded with Chris Olave and the aforementioned additions. Shough has an arsenal of game-changing players at his disposal. There is no reason he shouldn’t thrive next season, unless he regresses.

The NFC South is in a perpetual state of mediocrity, in which one elite acquisition can push someone into the playoffs. With the way the Saints were trending to end 2025, Tyson’s explosiveness can elevate their offense and push them to a few more wins, equating to a playoff spot.
Overall, the selection of Jordyn Tyson doesn’t only bode well for Tyler Shough, but also the entire organization. Shough doesn’t have any more excuses, the offense is loaded with weapons. The Saints will have a clear view on whether he’s their franchise quarterback after this season.
