The New Orleans Saints have now won four games in a row, the first time doing so since the 2020 season. In Nashville, Tyler Shough was once again one of the main players leading the team to victory.
Against the Titans, Shough completed 22 of his 27 pass attempts for 333 yards and two touchdowns. In addition to setting a new personal record in passing yards in a game, he also got a career-high passer rating of 142.7. Put that in the books as the highest of any rookie passer this season.
After the game, Shough said that he could feel the team's confidence growing but would spread the credit across the entire team. "I think it's all kind of growing. I think that's the fun part; we're all growing together as a team. We're having fun playing football," he said to the media postgame. "We're having fun just operating, going through those adversities and those ebbs and flows of the game. I try to stay as steady as I can, and the guys are feeding off each other."
Through each game this December, Saints QB Tyler Shough has only gotten better
Tyler Shough sure has had a December to remember, with each game having been better than the last. First throwing for 144 yards against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Shough would then throw 272 against the Carolina Panthers, 308 against the New York Jets, and finally throw for 333 yards against the Titans.
It's even made some wonder what the team's record would have been like if Shough had been the starter from week one. Would they still have a chance at the playoffs, or maybe even a division title? It's hard to say, but for what it's worth, Kellen Moore thinks that sitting the 40th-overall selection was only a benefit.
Shough has one more chance to impress this season, on the road in Atlanta. While it's unlikely he'll surpass 333 passing yards, it should be interesting to see how he fares in his first trip to Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
