When you play a game like the New Orleans Saints played versus the Baltimore Ravens, there's almost too many candidates for player of the game. Tyler Shough and Chris Olave shined offensively, and Chase Young sacked Lamar Jackson multiple times. Even on special teams, Daniel Carlson made all of his field goal attempts, which means a lot in a game this tight..
It was genuinely a complete team win, and that typically is going to favor the quarterback. Shough is indeed well represented in our player of the game honors, but he's not there alone. We have a couple game balls to hand out.

Tyler Shough is on his way to becoming a household name
Tyler Shough's performance makes him the clear choice as player of the game. The second-year quarterback continues to impress and isn’t just a local name now, getting acknowledged as a rising star nationally.
Shough was in command against the Ravens, particularly in the fourth quarter. He didn’t panic after falling behind, similar to last week, and played his best when it mattered.
His connection to Chris Olave, DeVaughn Vele, and Juwan Johnson is obvious. Shough’s clearly the offensive leader and can lead the Saints deep into the postseason during his career.~ Drew Collings
Chase Young was a major reason the Saints kept Lamar Jackson in check
Lamar Jackson is a difficult player to bring down, even when you get to him. Young did it on two separate occasions. He's credited with 1.5 sacks, and he was the driving force on both of those sacks.
Understanding the Ravens were coming into this game handicapped at receiver, generating a pass rush was one of the most important keys in this week. Lamar can be a dangerous runner, but the Saints kept him mostly contained throughout the game, and Young was a big reason why.~ Darrion Gray
The responsibility is going to fall on Young as the top guy in the room. Young's 7 pressures on the day, per Pro Football Focus, is exactly what they needed from him to keep Jackson in check. Those pressures were punctuated by his first multi-sack game of the year.
There is no doubt Tyler Shough is the man
I think that Tyler Shough should get as many accolades as he can for his performance on Sunday. Throwing through sacks and pushing forward despite facemasks, he showed a kind of grit that can take a team far. He really kept the team going in his own way, gathering some rushing yards when the passing game struggled to get going.
Following what was his sixth career win, Shough showed that he is the man in New Orleans. Going forward, there shouldn't be any more thoughts or discussions on the Saints getting another QB in 2027.~ Molly Bauer
