Terron Armstead, after 12 seasons in the NFL, has decided to retire. The veteran offensive lineman recently announced the decision, and celebrated his career with friends, family, and former teammates. Armstead played the last three seasons with the Miami Dolphins, but he will forever be remembered as a franchise legend for the New Orleans Saints.

Among his many statements since retiring, Armstead sent a heartfelt message to the Saints and the city of New Orleans. Taking to social media, Armstead expressed his love for the team and the city, and thanked them for taking a chance on him. He credited New Orleans for being a city of resilience and perseverance that raised him and taught him valuable lessons. Armstead said his motivation was always to prove the team right for taking a chance on him.

He also made sure to mention that he’ll never get over the missed pass interference call from the 2018 NFC Championship game. Armstead belives that decision robbed the Saints of a Super Bowl, but he knows the team will be back.

New Orleans selected Armstead out of Arkansas-Pine Bluff in the third round of the 2013 Draft, and it didn’t take long for him to become a force. After playing in six games as a rookie, starting two, he became the full-time starter at left tackle by his second season. In nine years with the Saints, he started 93 of the 97 games he played for the team.

He went to three straight Pro Bowls while in New Orleans from 2018 to 2020, and made two more Pro Bowl with the Dolphins in 2022 and 2023. Armstead was also second-team All-Pro back in 2018.

Now, Armstead is hanging up his cleats, and will make it into the Saints Ring of Honor and Hall of Fame some day.
