It’s once again time for a New Orleans Saints three-round mock draft. The 2026 NFL Combine begins this week, which means that the NFL Draft is beginning to heat up.

There wasn’t a particular theme with this mock draft, just grabbing the best available players who could impact the Saints early in their career. All three of these prospects could see playing time, and thrive within a few seasons.

With that said, it’s time to get into a pre-Combine three-round mock draft.

Makai Lemon would give Tyler Shough another dynamic weapon

1:8- Makai Lemon, WR, USC

Makai Lemon is a perfect fit in the Saints offense. The former USC Trojan would slide into the slot and allow him, Chris Olave, and Devaughn Vele to play together. Lemon isn’t the biggest or fastest, but he consistently wins with his short-area explosiveness, elite route running, and his reliable hands.

Lemon’s explosiveness out of the slot is unparalleled in college football. He’s a rapid accelerator/decelerator and is nearly impossible for a defender to keep up with. This also impacts his route running and pairs with his impressive footwork to become a nightmare for opposing cornerbacks. Additionally, he’s only 5-foot-11, but plays much bigger. He’s able to win contested catches and rarely allows the ball to hit the ground.

Lemon would be an ideal addition to the Saints offense and would give Tyler Shough an elite group of wide receivers for the foreseeable future.

2:42- Zion Young, EDGE, Missouri

Zion Young stands out as a potential three-down player in the NFL. He’s already dominant against the run, but also has immense pass rushing upside. Young is one of the strongest players in the class and has violent hand usage, which allows him to consistently embarrass the opposing lineman. He still needs to develop more pass rush moves; however, the speed and bull-rush ability are already evident. Plus, he’s shown a willingness to implement and try various moves. A defensive line coach will see Young and fully believe he will develop into a star.

3:73- Gennings Dunker, Guard, Iowa

Gennings Dunker played tackle while at Iowa, but projects at guard in the NFL. He’s an old-fashioned mauler on the interior. Dunker’s wrestling background is evident, as he understands leverage and position, which allows him to eliminate a defender from the play. He’s technique in pass protection still needs refinement, particularly his footwork, but a combination of moving to guard and NFL-level coaching will help him quickly improve.
