The New Orleans Saints somehow found room for another wide receiver. This time it was rookie minicamp invite, Brock Rechsteiner. If the name looks kind of familiar, it's because his dad is WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner.

After an impressive showing at rookie minicamp, NewOrleans.Football's Nick Underhill reported Rechsteiner would be joining the 90 man roster. He's much more than a last name and a part of a famous family.

Rechsteiner is an explosive player who scored a 85 yard touchdown reception in 2024. His total stats don't jump off the page, but with a little Steiner math it all adds up. Plust he has the traits to pull you in.This past season Rechsteiner averaged a little more than 15 yards per reception.

Saints signing Brock Rechsteiner speaks volumes

Players are going to make it to training camp from the rookie minicamp. It's always impressive but it isn't rare to see. Rechsteiner's position differentiates him from the norm. The minicamp invite was able to make enough of an impression to break into the already crowded wide receiver room. Rechsteiner makes 13 wide receivers on the Saints 90 man roster.

We know how the Saints stacked the top of the receiver room, but there's names all throughout the room. The Saints added Damien Alford, the first overall pick in the 2025 CFL Draft, this offseason. Players like Mason Tipton and Bub Means are also depth pieces who likely won't make the main roster but will challenge Rechsteiner for practice squad roles.

An already uphill battle for Rechsteiner to stand out gets more steep in training camp. The chances to standout will be even more diminished in camp, simply due to the amount of reps that he'll see. It's a great story, and fans will certainly be tracking what happens with the wide receiver. Making it to the practice squad would be a massive win.

Seeing where Rechsteiner came from, the expectation wasn't even for him to make it this far. There was no rush to step into the family business as a wrestler, but Rechsteiner did say he will eventually step into the squared circle. His cousin and current WWE wrestler Bron Breakker was the one who was able to convince Rechsteiner to pursue wrestling after his football days are over.

As for now, Rechsteiner is looking to continue his hot streak from rookie minicamp. If he continues to stand out into training camp, he just may find his way as a practice squad guy to develop over the season.
