The NFL has officially reached the trade-rumor point of the season. With the trade deadline November 5th, many teams will assess their roster and determine if they need to offload players or make a big move to land an elite player.

Teams in the position of the New Orleans Saints are usually offloading players. The Saints have lost their last five games, and sit at 2-5 after seven weeks. With so many injuries to key players, the odds of New Orleans turning the season around don’t look good. That’s why many people think the team should be sellers at the trade deadline.

That’s also why there have been a lot of trade discussions surrounding Alvin Kamara recently. The veteran running back is still playing at an elite level, and there’s no doubt contending teams around the league could use him. These discussions have gotten so loud that there was recently a rumor that Kamara asked for a trade.

The star running back quickly took to social media to shut down that rumor in a series of posts. In his first post, he flat out said, “I ain’t request a trade, so that’s a lie,” before signing the tweet off with a Who Dat hashtag.

Alvin Kamara makes it clear he didn’t request a trade

Kamara went on to say that if it’s any news about him, either he’ll break the news himself, or he’ll call his brother Michael Thomas to have him break the news. The veteran running back also confirmed a report from Nick Underhill saying that Kamara wants to finish his career in New Orleans.

This doesn’t come as a surprises to any Saints fans. Kamara has been open and honest about his desire to only play with the Saints. Just this offseason, when he was discussing his contract situation, Kamara said once his time in New Orleans ends, he’ll likely retire.

So any reports of him requesting a trade are simply false. Other teams may call about him, but the Saints will likely respect Kamara’s wishes, and not ship him off to another team.
