Alvin Kamara's future has been called into question from the moment the New Orleans Saints agreed to terms with Travis Etienne. Unfortunately for Saints fans, Kellen Moore wasn't able to give the answer that could settle the fan base. Most importantly, he couldn't provide certainty in either direction.

On Thursday, the Saints introduced all of their free agency additions, minus Travis Etienne. Most of the players spoke extensively with the media, and during this session, Moore also spoke. As big of a story as the signings are, Kamara and his future is an important story to monitor moving forward.

Kellen Moore declined any comment on the biggest issue surrounding Alvin Kamara

For everyone who thinks Etienne and Kamara can't coexist, please know that Moore is on the opposite side of that equation. Matter of fact, the only thing Moore could make clear is they'd like to see a 1-2 punch of Etienne and Kamara. Moore told reporters, "we'd like to go through that process, certainly. We know Alvin means a lot to us. We're three days in this thing. We've signed Travis, and we'll go through that process."

That clarifies the Saints side of it. They want Kamara on this team. If nothing else, that takes the trade part out of the equation. They correctly see Etienne and Kamara as a potential duo. It's fascinating how the immediate conversation for many was if Kamara had to leave instead of envisioning the tandem. With Moore's vision in the open, the only question remaining is what does Kamara want?

Moore was unable and unwilling to speak on the matter. After detailing his vision for Kamara, Moore was flat out asked if Kamara was planning on retiring. Moore appeared to begin to answer then clumsily transitioned to ""I'm not going to get into all that stuff. Haven't had those conversations in any way."

The exchange was quite awkward. It gives the impression of Kamara being uncertain of what the future holds for him. The real question becomes, why haven't those conversations happened? Most times not talking about retirement means retirement isn't on the table. In this case, it seems like Moore at least believes it's an option. He just isn't sure what the outcome will be.

With the uncertainty, the question of why communication on the subject isn't ongoing is a bigger question mark than the uncertainty itself.
