The New Orleans Saints are in need of wide receiver help and will search this offseason for a complimentary receiver to pair with All Pro Chris Olave. Green Bay Packers Romeo Doubs will hit the market, and the Saints should at least inquire about the price.

The Packers have a crowded wide receiver depth chart and are tight against the salary cap, which could lead to Doubs walking in free agency.  With his production and upside, he would immediately upgrade any receiving corps. That situation could allow a team like the Saints to capitalize by adding a proven, ascending receiver at a reasonable price.

The Saints offense began to find its rhythm late once Tyler Shough took over under center. Despite working with limited weapons, he showed flashes of efficiency and growth. Next year should be about building on top of that.  Adding a receiver like Doubs would elevate the unit and ease the burden on Shough, offering him more consistency and support as he continues to develop.

Romeo Doubs could be the key piece in Saints passing game

Doubs makes sense as a cost effective option who can provide reliable production without breaking the bank.  He brings physicality, route reliability, and redzone value, providing the Saints with a steady presence who can ease coverage away from Olave and add balance to the passing attack.

Romeo Doubs is coming off another solid season, leading a deep Packers receiving room in both yards and receptions with 55 catches for 724 yards and six touchdowns.  He proved to be a reliable target, making tough catches in crucial moments.  His consistency and playmaking ability kept defenses on alert all season.

Outside of Chris Olave, the Saints wide receiver room left plenty to be desired. Rasheed Shaheed still finished as the team’s second leading receiver, despite being traded mid season, highlighting the absence of a dependable playmaker behind their number one option.

Doubs would give you a receiving room of Olave, Doubs and Devaughn Vele and Ja'lynn Polk. You can begin to build with that, and it, most importantly, gives you two proven commodities in the room. Adding Doubs also won't keep the Saints from investing high in the draft at the position if the right player falls to them.
