The New Orleans Saints made their selection at pick number nine and it wasn't the one that Shedeur Sanders or Deion Sanders wanted. The Saints passed on the Colorado quarterback, opting to add help to their offensive line instead by taking Texas tackle Kelvin Banks Jr.
As expected, there was a reaction from Deion after the Saints passed on his son and honestly, the reaction was a little surprising. Deion was filmed as soon as the Saints' pick was announced and he had nothing to say. He took a swig of water and looked perplexed.

Shedeur Sanders was thought to be a top five prospect at one point but unfortunately for him, his stock tumbled as the draft inched closer. Not only did he fall out of the top 10 but once the Steelers passed on him with the 21st pick, it was clear that he was going to fall out of the first round altogether. That's exactly what happened.
Sanders is still waiting to hear his name called ahead of the second night of the draft. While the Saints could still land him, they'd have to hope that the Browns (who own the first pick in the second round) and Raiders both pass on him or that another team didn't jump in front of them.
It says a lot that the Saints are going through their issues with Derek Carr and still decided to pass on Sanders. They clearly weren't sold on him enough to make him a first-round pick and we'll have to see if he joins them in the second round or heads to another NFL team.
The Saints own the eighth pick in the second round for what it's worth so we'll have to see how things play out for them on Friday night.
