Jordyn Tyson would be a dream selection for the New Orleans Saints. In many analysts' eyes, the Arizona State wide receiver is the best in this class. He just has one major flaw: health concerns.
No one questions Tyson's talent. He's dynamic with the ball in his hands, able to attack on all three levels and shows up in big time moments. Tyson has more than earned the not as some people's WR1 in this class. However, availability is the best ability, as they say.
The Saints have seen enough injuries on the offensive side of the ball to do it again. That attitude of injury being an inevitability for Tyson is the reason he may drop out of the top 10. His medical testing could be biggest story of the beginning of the NFL Scouting Combine. Every team is going want to have a clear understanding of his medicals.
Jordyn Tyson's health update is already off to a bad start
It'd be one thing if Tyson was having to explain injury woes of the past, or if it was a big injury that was lingering. Unfortunately it's a continuance of multiple pestering injuries. Tyson is currently out with a hamstring injury. It was reported on Tuesday afternoon that Tyson wasn't going to participate in on field drills at the Combine.
There's no issue in that. Tyson would be far from the only top prospect to skip out on being a full participant in the event. In Tyson's case, he won't be participating because of a hamstring injury he's still dealing with from the season.
The hamstring still bothering Tyson simply isn't aiding his case. It's going to be hard to sell a team on a player who has a long history of injuries to be a top-10 pick by any team. Prior to the hamstring that plagued him in 2025, the receiver had an ACL, MCL and PCL injury in 2022.
If the medicals don't check out, Tyson is going to go from potential top 10 pick to likely a fringe top 15 pick. It's all about his medicals, because his tape tells you all of Tyson's skillset. It's enough to be the Saints' pick at 8. At this point, it's all on the team doctors.
