The New Orleans Saints and New York Giants have both struggled this season, but that wasn't the only thing they had in common entering their Week 5 matchup against each other. Both franchises selected quarterbacks early in the 2025 Draft; New York took Jaxson Dart in the first round, and the Saints drafted Tyler Shough in the second. However, New Orleans had the opportunity to select Dart at No. 9, 16 spots before the Giants took him.

Leading up to Sunday’s game, that storyline resurfaced. Dart, ahead of his second start in the NFL, was asked if he had a chip on his shoulder this week since New Orleans could have taken him. The rookie quarterback made it clear that he did have a chip, and New Orleans made it clear they were aware of Dart’s feelings. In the end, the Saints got the last laugh, winning Sunday’s game 26-14.

Saints troll Jaxson Dart after Week 5 win over Giants

The Saints social team was in full petty mode on Sunday, sending multiple direct shots at New York’s rookie quarterback. With the winning graphic, New Orleans captioned the post, “Darted to the W.” Ealier in the game, after Dart threw his second interception, the team shared the video with the caption, “Jaxson Dart intercepted again!”

Typically when teams share videos of their players forcing a turnover, the caption is solely about the team’s players. The inclusion of Dart’s name was certainly intentional.

The rookie quarterback in New York just has to eat the L. Any plans he had to show the Saints they made a mistake went up in smoke, as he completed just 26-of-40 passes for 202 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. He also added 55 yards on the ground. Of course, this is just one game, and it takes a substantial look at players’ careers before draft decisions can accurately be judged.

While only time will tell which decisions were right, the Saints are the ones who currently hold bragging rights.
