Former New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees is making a return... to the broadcast booth. About a week ago, it was announced that he would be joining FOX Sports, replacing former New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez, and serving as color commentator alongside Adam Amin and Kristina Pink for the remainder of the 2025 season.
The future Hall of Famer is set to make his debut for FOX this weekend and commentate the Green Bay Packers vs. New York Giants game. Although it is his debut for FOX, it isn't his first time as a broadcaster.
Previously, he was with NBC Sports under the same role for their Notre Dame football games and Football Night in America in 2021. However, that role would turn out to be temporary, as he would leave just a year later in 2022.
Former Saint Drew Brees gets to watch his favorite NFL QB up close
Because Drew Brees gets to commentate on the Packers' take on the Giants at MetLife Stadium, he also gets to watch his favorite quarterback in the National Football League, Green Bay's Jordan Love, up close and personal.
Brees expressed his infatuation with the quarterback on ESPN in September. Crediting his arm strength and the offensive scheme of Matt LaFleur, he said that he just "loves Jordan Love and the Packers."
He even said they're his favorite to win the whole thing. "They got all the weapons. You have to defend every blade of grass against the Packers," he said to Stephen A. Smith. "And you can't say that with every team."
That was said when Green Bay was 2-1 on the season. Now, the cheeseheads are 5-3-1 and have lost an unprecedented two straight games at Lambeau Field. However, the Love story is still going strong, with Jordan Love currently being top 10 in the NFL in passing yards with 2,247. This Sunday, he'll get the chance to prevent a three-game losing streak in front of one of his biggest fans.
