New Orleans Saints fans, get ready to mark your calendars. ESPN's Adam Schefter believes the NFL schedule is set to be released between May 12 to May 14. He points to May 11 as the typical day and he believes that Tuesday to Thursday is the exact range.
It's funny how the opponents and locations are already set, but merely saying when the games are happening creates this much intrigue. The schedule release has become this great spectacle. A team's choice of revealing the schedule is talked about more than the schedule itself. Next step, start making travel arrangements.
Saints fans can start booking their tickets to Paris
We know the Saints are going to Paris, but we don't know when or against who. The initial report from a French outlet was the Saints would face off against the Cleveland Browns on October 25. It was so specific that it's hard to say it doesn't have some validity to it. (For my French speakers/readers, the initial report is linked in the PFT report. For those who can't read French, you're welcome.)
When the NFL announced the Saints would play in Paris this year, they left the date and opponent open. The league easiliy could have just wanted to avoid their thunder being stolen by a report. The couple of months since also gave them time to change some things around if they wanted to.
Many Saints fans already have their travel plans set up. They just need to confirm it. The only thing in the way of doing that is a finalized date. All that changes in mid-May.
There's obviously other games to look forward to. When is the first home game of the season? Both games against the Falcons matchups that will be circled. The game versus the AFC team you haven't seen in four years. It's many things to look for during schedule reveal, but none of those things compare to Paris.
It's literal history in the making. Saints fans don't care who the opponent is. They'll be there, and the opponent is just a bonus.
