Justin Reid stole the attention as a biggest potential trade piece for listed by The Athletic's Jonathan Jones that teams could call the New Orleans Saints about. The list didn't stop there. Jones also included Kendre Miller as a potential target. Travis Etienne Jr should be back before the trade deadline, so nothing should stand in the Saints' way.

Trading Miller isn't a move anyone thought about, largely because there wasn't believed to be a market for him, but it's not a hard decision if it comes up. The only reason Etienne's availability matters is the Saints need bodies at running back.

Trading Miller while Etienne is out would leave just Alvin Kamara and CJ Donaldson, and the latter got hurt last week. If the Saints can solve the quantity problem, agreeing to a deal for Miller is an easy call.

Saints should take the offer for Kendre Miller, whatever it is

The bar shouldn’t be high for a Miller trade. If the Saints can find any value for Miller, then they should make the deal. It may be the most no brainer thing the Saints could do.

It’s kind of surprising to hear that Miller could have some sort of value on the trade market. He hasn’t delivered on the hype that many had for him coming out of TCU; however, the talent is apparent at times. That has to be what other teams are seeing.

The Saints have a lot of problems up front, and one thing that you can’t say is Miller has been put in a great situation. There are many times in which defenders are already in the backfield before he can make a move, so it isn’t out of the real possibility to think a team could see him as a player who hasn’t hit their ceiling due to circumstances.

This has been a common story for Miller throughout his career, but it's been impossible to ignore this season. Miller is constantly dealing with traffic in the backfield, which hurts his yards per carry, but Miller has looked better on the eye test than the stat sheet.

If for no other reason, the Saints should move on from Miller, if a team comes asking for him, because he hasn’t stayed healthy throughout his career. There is a Marcus Davenport-esque trend to Miller’s career. Not from a production standpoint, both Davenport and Miller were hyped up as talents then had a disappointing showing in their first healthy season, which happened to be a contract year for both.

Miller likely isn't going to be on this team in 2027 anyway, so why not trade him? The Saints traded Trevor Penning for stadium popcorn because they knew it's better to get something for a player before they walk. Miller is better than Penning, but the thought process is the same.
