Spencer Rattler and Chris Olave got off to a slow start building chemistry. Olave was on pace to have the worst season of his career.   However, over the last 2 weeks, New Orleans Saints have seen the duo start to develop a better connection, showing signs of turning things around offensively.

The Saints offense is still searching for consistency, as they currently rank 29th in scoring with 17.9 points per game.  Inefficiency in the red zone and a lack of explosive plays have kept this unit from reaching its potential.

Without their developmental chemistry, the unit would look uglier, as their connection has been one of the few bright spots on a dim offense.  Their connection has been a reminder of the talent that they bring when they are playing to their potential.

Spencer Rattler & Chris Olave connection coming alive

Rattler and Olave have connected 11 times for 196 yards and 2 touchdowns in their last 2 games.  Olave has posted back to back 98 yard receiving games, recording the first multi score game of his career in their previous match up against the Chicago Bears. He accounted for over 40% of the Saints receiving yards and all of their scores, standing out as the clear offensive focal point.

Olave gave the Bears secondary the Bears secondary fits whenever he lined up in slot, he hauled in a 57 yard bomb down the seam down the seem against Tyrique Stevenson, a corner who had been playing at a high level in recent weeks.  Both of Olave touchdown passes also came from the slot, where he consistently found separation and exploited mismatches.  His route running and explosiveness made him a tough task to deal with in the middle of the field.

With trade rumors mounting and criticism looming, Olave stepped up to the plate and delivered.  This performance might be the spark that he needed to get going, a step toward the potential that many analysts believe that he has.  Olave will look to carry his momentum over into next week, in a division game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he looks to re establish himself
