There’s no greater proof of Cam Jordan’s career resurgence in 2025 than his return to the NFL’s Top 100 player list. He kicked off the list as the 100th player. A return for Jordan also is a return for the New Orleans Saints after a year hiatus.Â
The Saints didn’t have any players make the list a year ago. It was honestly surprising with Demario Davis coming off a strong campaign. He didn’t get the veteran benefit of the doubt. Jordan didn’t need it, and his bounce back season in 2025 clearly sent waves beyond just New Orleans. Even national media and players recognize Jordan’s resurgence.Â
It’s doubtful he’ll be the only Saints player on the list either. Chase Young and Chris Olave are also prime candidates to make the cut. They’re both coming off career seasons, with Olave snagging a second team All-Pro nomination. After taking a year off, the Saints could return with 2-3 players in the top 100.
Saints bringing back Cam Jordan looks even smarter now
The truth is the Saints always needed to bring back Cam Jordan. It was partially because of who Jordan showed himself to be last year. It was also because the position clearly needed some assistance. Jordan’s sabbatical brought that void to the forefront.
Young showed the potential to be a dominant force off the edge last year. However, the edge room felt like question mark after question mark once you get past Young. Granderson is a proven commodity, but he has yet to prove he has the consistency to be a satisfactory second option.
Anfernee Jennings and Tyree Wilson are rotational players. What the Saints were missing was a player to complement Young at the top. Jordan’s placement is further proof the Saints made the right call picking that complement.Â
If Jordan lives up to the hype of being a top 100 player in his final season, the Saints pass rush could be deadly. It doesn’t have to look like 10.5 sacks again. It could be closer to 8 sacks. A healthy Chase Young should make up for the difference.Â
