With the gut-wrenching loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, the New Orleans Saints are officially off to their worst start in nearly a decade. However, despite the 0-3 start, Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler does not think that the locker room is dealing with a crisis in confidence.

A reporter asked Rattler that specific question after the loss. "I wouldn't say so. No," the second-year QB would respond. "We know what we have to get better at, and we have to do it with urgency. It's a long year. We have to get better now, because it's not going to get any easier. We have to put better stuff on tape and go out there and play the ball that we know we can play."

Rattler did say that in no way is this fun but also emphasized the importance of keeping a level head. "You can't ride the rollercoaster of emotions. We have to have a neutral thought.. It's a long season." The quarterback told the media. "You've seen what's happened. We just have to be better on all sides of the ball. We just have to do it."

After the loss to Seattle, Saints' QB Spencer Rattler is in not in good company

Since being drafted back in the fifth round of the 2024 draft, Spencer Rattler has started nine games for the New Orleans Saints. However, he's yet to secure his first career win, going 0-9 through his first set of starts. The only other QB to do that was DeShone Kizer back in 2017 with the Cleveland Browns, who would lose his first 15 starts en route to a winless season (only the second in NFL history). So it's safe to say that the company that Rattler finds himself in is not held in high esteem.

Now surely the 2025 New Orleans Saints have a better roster and coaches than the 2017 Cleveland Browns, who went 0-16, right? Right? Everyone's immediate answer is probably yes; the Saints at least have some future Hall of Famers on the roster. However, through the first three weeks, the Saints are winless, so it seems like only time will tell.

The Saints' next chance at a win will be on Sunday afternoon, in Buffalo against the Buffalo Bills and the defending MVP, Josh Allen. In what is sure to be their toughest game yet, the team will have to have all their ducks in a row if they hope to get their first win of the season.
