The New Orleans Saints picking Christen Miller shouldn't be viewed as competition for Bryan Bresee, or someone who puts pressure on him to deliver. If anything, Miller is the player who will unlock Bresee.

Bresee and Miller are two different players, and that's why they complement each other so well. Bresee improved his run defense a year ago but he's a natural pass rusher. Miller is a natural, space eating run defender with some pass rush ability in his game. These are two prototypes that go together like peanut butter and jelly.

Miller is already ready to work with Bresee. He said Bresee is a player he's been watching since he was in high school. Crazy thought. When it comes to playing with Bresee, Miller said it "will be like a movie."

Christen Miller is the player Saints fans have been waiting for

Defensive tackle hasn't been discussed as one of the three biggest needs on team, but it's certainly a position the Saints needed to invest in. Their run defense improved, but there was still clear work to do in that department.

The Saints brought Davon Godchaux to be their big nose tackle, but that didn't go how they expected. Instead of going the veteran route again, they made a top-50 investment in a high ceiling player. At 321 pounds, the instant expectation is for Miller to eat up space.

If Miller can absorb multiple blocks and clog up the middle as a rookie, that'll be a start. It also opens the door for Bresee to be an even bigger impact player by creating more one on one opportunities. On film, Miller has shown the ability to take those double teams and treat them like one on ones. His knack for splitting linemen was impressive.

The Bresee and Miller duo obviously complement each other, but it's important to note they both have run stopping and pass rush traits. It's that part that should have the Saints excited about the Saints interior defensive line.
