The 2026 NFL Draft is quickly approaching and the New Orleans Saints are beginning to lock in on potential prospects. While most fans are focusing on round one players, day three options deserve some love. They aren’t complete prospects, but why not swing for the fences on a player with elite traits.

A common trend with the players below is that they are lacking in a crucial aspect. For example, it could be subpar route running for a receiver, not having ample experience, or lacking a definitive role, but that’s what makes them fall this far. However, their absurd athleticism and tools give them an extremely high ceiling.

With that said, here are five prospects with a low-floor, but high ceiling in the upcoming NFL Draft. Why not take a swing on these prospects on day three?

Harold Perkins Jr.'s NFL position is an enigma Brandon Staley, Saints may have an answer for

Uar Bernard- DT, Nigeria

Uar Bernard was unknown before his pro-day on Friday afternoon. However, he blew scouts away with his 39” vertical, 10’ 10” broad jump (14 inches farther than the next defensive tackle) and a 4.63 40-yard dash at six-foot-four, 306 pounds. He still needs plenty of development coming from the International Pathway Program, but why not swing for the fences on day three?

Jeff Caldwell- WR, Cincinnati

Jeff Caldwell posted a perfect 10.0 RAS score after the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine. He’s a mediocre route runner and needs more consistency, but his blazing speed, ability after the catch and use of tempo in routes makes him an enticing prospect.

Harold Perkins Jr.- LB, LSU

The biggest question about Harold Perkins Jr. is his role at the next level. The six-foot-one, 223 pound linebacker is an amazing athlete, but still hasn’t found his ideal position on defense. Despite this, Brandon Staley’s defensive scheme could fit him and find his fit at the next level.

Landon Robinson- DT, Navy

Landon Robinson isn’t a big player, standing five-foot-11, 293 pounds, but is a smooth mover and extremely agile. The 2025 American Conference Defensive Player of the Year filled up the statsheet with 34 pressures, 8.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks. His fit in a traditional defense is still to be seen, but the potential is evident.

Demond Claiborne- HB, Wake Forest

Demond Claiborne is lightning in a bottle. His quick burst, rapid acceleration and elite long speed makes him a constant big-play threat. He’s slippery in the open field and is elusive enough to make defenders miss. Claiborne has fumble concerns and isn’t powerful, however, he would thrive as a change-of-pace role.
