Predicting each of Saints’ last six games (playoffs are in reach)

The New Orleans Saints survived a seven-game losing streak, and with six games left, they have a chance to make a run at the playoffs.

The New Orleans Saints are back, well maybe, now that they've rattled off two wins in a row after firing head coach Dennis Allen. The Saints are finally playing like a team again, and have a new energy about them that gives everyone the vibes of the team that started the season. Now that the bye week is behind us, let's take a look at the rest of the season and how the Saints can finish this year off.

Week 13 vs. LA Rams

Win. The Saints (4-7) will host the Los Angeles Rams (5-6) following a bye week. The Rams are coming off a Sunday Night Football loss to the Philadelphia Eagles at home, and considering the Saints' history with the Rams (and two weeks to prepare), it feels like a game the Saints will win. Los Angeles running back Kyren Williams will probably have a big game for the Rams, but ultimately, the Saints will sneak out a 26-24 win.

Week 14 at New York Giants

Win. As unpractical as the Saints rattling off four consecutive wins may seem, the schedule for New Orleans honestly couldn't be better. The Giants are arguably the most dysfunctional franchise in the NFL right now, especially following the benching and release of their franchise quarterback Daniel Jones. Needless to say, Tommy DeVito and a disgruntled Malik Nabers won’t be enough to knock off a red hot Saints team. Saints win convincingly, 38-15.

Week 15 vs. Washington Commanders

Loss. While the Commanders have returned to Earth a bit after their scorching hot start, it’s hard to believe Jayden Daniels and Marshon Lattimore won't make a major splash when returning to the state of Louisiana— which would cause fits for the Saints. Marshon Lattimore knows the receivers in New Orleans better than anybody and Jayden Daniels' athleticism would cause a major problem for the defense. The Saints could be sneaky, but ultimately fall 27-24.

Week 16 at Green Bay Packers

Two days before Christmas, at Lambeau Field, against an almost sure-fire playoff team isn't necessarily a recipe for success for the Saints. I'd bet my life savings that weather will play a major role in this game, as Lambeau Field is notoriously known for it's blistery, freezing football weather in the winter months. The elements, paired with one of the league's youngest rosters with lots of star potential would likely send the Saints home with a second consecutive loss. Unless the Marquez Valdes-Scantling revenge game is in full effect, Green Bay in this one 38-13.

Week 17 vs. Las Vegas Raiders

Circle the wagons, the Saints are getting back on track in this game. There's absolutely no way New Orleans will lose this game. It's a Derek Carr and Foster Moreau revenge game and this game cold have major playoff implications for the Saints, who could still be in the mix at this point. Expect Derek Carr to have a big game, and so will Alvin Kamara. Give me the Saints 34-14.

Week 18 at Tampa Bay

This game is hard to predict, because if Tampa Bay has the NFC South won already, it’s unlikely we see Baker Mayfield, Mike Evans, or any other notable starters. If that's the case, and the Saints are still fighting for a Wild Card spot, the Saints will win convincingly. If Tampa Bay is still playing their starters and fighting for a playoff spot, it's a coin flip.

Let’s put it this way, if the winner of this game makes the playoffs, take the Saints to win. New Orleans hasn't lost back-to-back games vs Tampa Bay since 2022, and before than it was 2007. As long as the Saints can tame the Mike Evans - Baker Mayfield connection, New Orleans should win 28-23.
