Baker Mayfield

I know people are going to be screaming "HELL NO" at this entry but there aren't great options on the free-agent market this spring and Mayfield is one of the few "meh" options in this bunch.

The former No. 1 overall pick started off looking like the answer in Cleveland but showed in 2021 that he wasn't the right guy for the Browns. They traded him in the offseason and he struggled in Carolina so far, though he did manage to beat the Saints earlier this year.

Mayfield's market value is set at three years $47 million, which feels like a lot for a guy who underperformed this year. New Orleans probably isn't desperate enough to pay him that dough.

Sam Darnold

I know, it just keeps getting worse, doesn't it? To be clear, I don't want the Saints to sign Darnold but he's a free-agent quarterback and therefore, he belongs on this list. His market value is two years $17 million, which isn't that bad honestly.

If the Saints were to sign Darnold, he could be a backup option for Winston. That probably wouldn't make fans very happy and I'd understand the frustration considering Darnold's struggles now with two different teams. He will be affordable though.
