The 2023 NFL offseason is still several months away but the New Orleans Saints very well could be in the market for a quarterback once again.

Jameis Winston was signed to a two-year deal so he'll be on the roster next year as will Taysom Hill. Neither of those guys is the long-term answer and truthfully, if the Saints are looking to add a quarterback through free agency, they probably aren't going for the long-term solution but a stopgap quarterback.

With no first-round pick in their back pocket, the Saints could either roll with Winston or Hill next year, draft a quarterback after round one, or sign someone in free agency. Let's check out some of the signal-callers hitting free agency in the 2023 offseason.

Jimmy Garoppolo

The biggest name set to hit the free-agent market at the quarterback position is the current 49ers signal-caller. Garoppolo re-signed with the 49ers despite them clearly wanting to go with Trey Lance as their starter. He was thrust into action earlier this season when Lance got hurt and had to miss the entire 2022 campaign.

Garoppolo probably isn't going to be a realistic option for the Saints because teams will be willing to throw more money at him than New Orleans would be able to. If they did end up signing him though, I'd honestly be okay with it. He's a good quarterback when he has a decent run game and solid defense and the Saints have that.

Spotrac has Garoppolo's market value set at four years $107 million.
