Bennett to Saints, Reason No. 1: Stetson Bennett knows how to win

We can list reason after reason not to go after Stetson Bennett and as the 2023 NFL Draft nears, that's exactly what happens with prospects. For Bennett, he has a few things working against him with his size (5-foot-11 and 192 pounds) and age (will be 26 during the season) standing out as the top concerns.

While all of that is important, what matters above all else in football is winning and that's what Bennett does.

During his career with Georgia, Bennett posted a 29-3 record as a starting quarterback. Sure, there's been a ton of talent around him at UGA but when it came down to it, he was the signal-caller that could get it done.

Bennett not only secured the job despite high-profile quarterbacks coming into the program but then he stepped up his game in big moments. He led the Bulldogs to back-to-back titles and he won the 2022 and 2023 CFFP National Championship MVP in each of those games.

In addition to those honors, Bennett won the 2021 Orange Bowl MVP, the 2022 Peach Bowl MVP, and added the Manning Award and Burlsworth Trophy to his name as well this past season. Simply put, Bennett is a winner and a team such as the Saints would be wise to add him as a potential heir to Derek Carr.
