Top 5 players the New Orleans Saints should completely avoid in 2023 NFL Draft
By Randy Gurzi
Right now, the New Orleans Saints look to be the favorites in the NFC South. Dennis Allen led them to a 7-10 record in his first season as their head coach and now has some more talent on the offensive side of the ball.
New Orleans was able to sign quarterback Derek Carr as well as running back Jamaal Williams, which should be a huge boost for them. Now, they can turn their focus to the 2023 NFL Draft.
The draft is always a guessing game but the Saints can ensure they have the best chance of success this season by avoiding these five prospects.
Saints prospect to avoid No. 5: Cameron Brown, Ohio State
It's no secret that New Orleans general manager Mickey Loomis loves Ohio State products. He's used draft picks on players such as Chris Olave, Michael Thomas, Marcus Lattimore, and Vonn Bell (although he's since left) — just to name a few. It's become a bit of a pipeline for them and they could be tempted to look back to the Buckeyes during this draft due to a need in the secondary.
One player who seems as though he could be a fit physically is Cameron Brown. A talented athlete who runs well, can read wide receiver routes, and knows how to break up passes could be a huge help. He also has adequate size at 6-foot-0 and 199 pounds. The problem is, Brown has been dealing with one injury after another.
New Orleans has had problems with health already without going out and adding a player that already has durability concerns.
