Payton Turner

Eight games. That's how much of Payton Turner Saints fans have seen from the 2021 first-round pick a little over a year into his pro career. It's been a disappointing turnout for Turner, who simply can't stay healthy.

Turner played in just five games last year and has only played in three games so far in 2022 due to a chest injury. With Marcus Davenport in the final year of his contract, it's time for Turner to show that he can be a suitable replacement for Davenport. Right now, he hasn't done that.

Tyrann Mathieu

The Honey Badger's first six games as a member of the Saints are an example of how PFF grades don't tell the whole story. For those of us watching the games, it's hard not to notice Mathieu whiffing on tackles left and right.

During his three seasons in Kansas City, Mathieu provided a young Chiefs defense with the much-needed spark they needed to get over the hump and make the Super Bowl. He hasn't been that for the Saints defense in 2022 and it's been disappointing, to say the least.
