How to save the Saints Step 2: Trade Michael Thomas and a 5th RD pick for Elijah Moore and a 2nd RD pick

This goes back to the old saying that "the best ability is availability". While his talent is undeniable, Michael Thomas has played only 10 games in the last 3 seasons since signing that massive extension in 2019. As a matter of fact, one NFL player, Washington running back Brian Robinson Jr, was shot multiple times and returned to game action faster than Thomas has come back from a toe injury this season.

Elijah Moore and Chris Olave would provide the Saints with two young promising wide receivers not only for this season, but also for whoever becomes the next Saints franchise quarterback. In addition to providing an additional pass-catching presence this season, the trade of Michael Thomas will provide salary cap relief as the star wide receiver has a cap hit of 28 million next season.
