This Sunday marks the beginning of the 2022 regular season for the New Orleans Saints, who went 9-8 last year and narrowly missed the playoffs. It was an impressive feat considering all of the crap thrown the Saints' way last year but they have to be better in 2022, and there's absolutely reason to believe that they will.

NOLA faces the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday and as corny as it is to say, you can always count on competitive matchups when these two square off. The Saints won in Atlanta last year and the Falcons took down the good guys in New Orleans last season. What will happen this time around?

Fortunately, the Saints will have a familiar face in the broadcast booth when this game gets underway, as it'll be Kenny Albert, Jonathan Vilma, and Shannon Spake on the call for NOLA vs. Atlanta.

Vilma, of course, played for the Saints from 2008-2013 after he spent the first four years of his career with the Jets. Vilma was a first-round pick in the 2004 NFL Draft by the Jets and had a whopping 173 tackles in just his second year in the league. That's not a typo -- Vilma had 173 tackles during the 2005 season!

Albert calls New York Rangers games and also dabbles in Major League Baseball as well as NFL games. Saints fans are familiar with Albert calling their games and this is one of FOX's more respectable broadcast teams.

Spake does sideline reporting in both the NFL and in NASCAR.

It's always nice to have someone on the Saints' side in the booth and Vilma will be just that. He won't be too biased, of course, but we all know who he'll be rooting for. This is a good broadcast team for the Saints to start the season with.
